Marko: "If I was Ferrari, I'd put him in that Alfa Romeo"

Helmut Marko is known for having the ability to see talent. A very special driver is driving around at the Ferrari Driver Academy. Marko sees this boy, named Robert Shwartzman, as a better choice for the Italian racing team than Mick Schumacher.
Marko keeps a close eye on the junior classes of motorsport. Shwartzman caught his eye recently, he says via F1-Insider: "He is intelligent, fast, can manage his tires very well and is very special."
"If I were Ferrari, I would put him in that Alfa Romeo next year," advises the Red Bull Racing man. Both seats of the Ferrari training team are still free at the moment. So there would be room for a youngster to break through.
Ferrari aims for Schumacher
A promotion from Shwartzman would probably mean skipping Schumacher. A double promotion seems unlikely. Especially now it has become clear that Alfa Romeo would prey on Sergio Perez if Sebastian Vettel made a move to Racing Point.
Ferrari has been following Michael Schumacher's son closely for years and he is tipped as one of the biggest contenders for a Formula 1 seat in 2020: "Mick drives well, much better than last year. It's important that he makes progress in his second Formula 2 season".
"In Hungary, he did well but it's still too early to make a choice about that", Ferrari-team boss Mattia Binotto mentioned after a double third place for the German at the Hungaroring. (Photo: Red Bull Content Pool/Getty Images)
