Red Bull tests with new floor just before the Austrian Grand Prix

During the film day at Silverstone, Red Bull Racing tested with a new car floor. This should provide a higher degree of downforce. Helmut Marko indicated at an earlier stage that he would take updates to Austria and this seems to be one of them.
At the Silverstone circuit, it was Alexander Albon who had the honour of testing the RB16. It was the Formula 1-journalist Albert Fabrega who found out that there was a striking difference in the floor of the car. The fins attached to the floor seem to be a lot higher than during the test days in Barcelona, which provides more downforce.
Red Bull wants to make several updates at the same time
Marko indicated that multiple updates will be brought to the Red Bull Ring. There, Max Verstappen and Albon will drive a double race across two weekends. Effectively, the team wants to bring out updates that normally would take place earlier in the season. (Photo: Red Bull Content Pool / Getty Images)
