Verstappen not present at Red Bull Racing film day

Max Verstappen will have to wait until the first free practice in Austria to get inside of the RB16. According to Autosport, the Dutchman will not take action during the film day at Circuit Silverstone.
"Alex Albon will run alone for the day because the UK's mandatory 14-day quarantine for anyone arriving from abroad meant that it was too hard to arrange for Verstappen to fly in from his home in Monaco", the British motorsport website indicates.
Verstappen has remained in Monaco since the global lockdown. Apparently it was too difficult for the Austrian racing team to let Verstappen fly in for the film day. That is why he - in consultation with the team - decided to skip the film day at Silverstone.
The situation is explained in more detail: "For Verstappen to have joined the test, he would have needed to arrive in the UK in the first week of the quarantine in early June". Unfortunately, no exception is made for sports stars. Well-known athletes must also be quarantined for two weeks upon arrival in the United Kingdom.
Verstappen not bothered by lack of testing
Verstappen has previously indicated that he is not bothered with the lack of test minutes that he will make. By not being able to come to Silverstone, he is the only driver of the top teams who has not involved in a test run (since Barcelona) prior to the 2020 season.
"Three or four laps of testing at the Red Bull Ring and we're back", he said confidently. His presumption was confirmed last week by Esteban Ocon, who also indicated that after four laps at the Red Bull Ring he already felt at home in the Renault car. (Photo: Red Bull Content Pool / Getty Images)
